Internet Marketing Is A Journey, Not A Walk In The Park

If you are expecting a program that’s going to have money flowing into your bank account at the click of a button, you are in for a rude awakening.  Internet marketing is all about learning something that has never been taught to you in school.  You will have moments of giving up because things aren’t going your way.  Internet Marketing is a journey, not a walk in the park.  Just because it’s a challenge doesn’t mean you can’t make a lot of money with it.  Let’s continue, shall we?

Have A Mission In Your Marketing

Before you set out on this journey, you need to have a mission.  Your mission may be to make X amount of money, but this is what’s leading to your frustration.  A mission should be something you want to provide for the people who will become your audience and your future customers.  If you’re using videos, a blog, or just a squeeze page to drawn in your audience, you want to let them know that you have a mission to help them accomplish something.  The mission of this site is to help you build a highly targeted audience that’s going to support you on your Internet marketing journey.  If you are struggling to make money, you’ll start noticing that things will get easier once you start following the advice this site provides.

Know What Direction You Want To Go To Set Out On Your Journey

Pick a niche that you’ll enjoy, not necessarily the one that’s going to make you the most money.  If you’re motivated by money and money alone, your Internet marketing journey will come to a screeching halt at the slightest sign of adversity.  With that being said, the niche you get into still needs to be able to make you some money.  If you can’t commit to that one niche for at least one year, don’t bother getting into it.  The most “lucrative” niche won’t always make you the most money, yet the niche that a lot of people overlook because it doesn’t pay very well can be the niche that makes you a ton of money.

Learn As Much As You Can Because Internet Marketing Is A Journey Of Uncertainty

You may buy a product or 10 that don’t work for you, but with each product you buy, you are getting closer to reaching your goal.  When you go to school you don’t learn one class and graduate the next day.  No, you need years of training in order to graduate so you can start going out in the world and finding a job or progress in your career.  It takes time in order to learn how to build an audience, learn effective marketing techniques, and how to generate the kind of traffic that gets the best conversion rates.  When you buy a program, don’t think of it as “The Program That’s Going To Make Me Rich”.  Instead, when you buy each program, use it as something you can add to your arsenal.

Be Consistent And Stay On Your Path

The reason why most people struggle with Internet Marketing is because they don’t focus on one thing long enough.  They may buy a program, learn the techniques and apply them for only a few months.  They don’t see the results they want, so they try something else.  That’s like taking a road trip, getting out of your car and hitchhiking in another direction. Yes, you may get to your destination, but you veered off course, so instead of getting there in 6 months to a year, it may take you 2-5 years to get there.  If this happens to you, don’t feel bad.  You now understand you need to focus and stay the course. You understand that it takes time to get to your destination so just make sure you stay on course and just cruise down the highway until you get there.

The Journey Can Be Fun

Focusing on making a certain amount of money and not getting it makes Internet marketing upsetting.  If you’re not making a certain amount of money focus on other things.  Focus on setting traffic goals.  How much traffic can you get in a day, a week, or month?  Set goals of how many visitors are opting into your mailing list or following you on social media or engaging with your site.  Set goals of how many people are clicking the link to your product (even though they are not buying).  The more clicks you are able to get on your sales page or affiliate promotions, the closer you are getting to making a sale.  If the numbers are too low, start tweaking a few things.  Phrase things a little different.  Use buttons instead of links.  Use links instead of buttons.  You want to make your intent clear on what you want your visitors to do.  If you make that the main thing, you’ll notice more and more people doing what you want them to do.

Celebrate When You Hit A Milestone

You may not have made $10,000 that month, but maybe you made your first sale of $100.  Celebrate and try to see if you can get the same results consistently.  It’s good to have a big goal in mind, such as making $10,000 a month, but you first have to make your first dollar, right?  The moment you get your first sale, it will feel like you hit the mother load.  Someone actually took value in your work and decided to buy from you.  It’s one of the best feeling in the world.  Enjoy each milestone you hit.

When You Reach A Destination, You Realize The Journey Is Not Over

If you want to make $10,000 a month, and you start making $10,000 a month, you tend to set bigger goals.  You notice that getting $10,000 can be made in a few days.  This is a place where you want to be.  That means you are gaining mastery.  Just like anything you master, you realize that you want to take on bigger challenges and set bigger goals.  This is why you can’t let a few set backs in the beginning of your Internet Marketing journey have you throw in the towel.
