The First Step Gets You To The Last Step

In order to get from Point A to Point B, you need to take that first step.  Right now you may have just started your blog and not seeing any traffic.  This is only the first step.  You have just started the journey.  You can’t expect to reach your destination with the first step.  Keep going, you’ll get there eventually.

My prediction is if you consistently post, you’ll see traction after 6 months to a year.

“That’s too long!”

Well, think of it this way.  If you stop now, you won’t get there  Imagine you are on a 12-mile hike and you are trying to get home.  Your feet are hurting but you don’t have a car to get you there faster.  If you want to reach your destination, you’re going to have to keep walking.  One foot in front of the other. Walking that distance, you tend to complain and get discouraged, but you still need to keep moving to get their in less time (even though it feels like it’s taking a long time).  Before you know it, you’re in your neighborhood.  Even though you’re not that close to home, you feel better because you’re close enough to know that home is not that far away.

Blogging  is kinda like this.  You may have been blogging for months and not seeing much traffic and no sales.  Then after some time, you get your first sale.  Even though it’s not close to your income goal, you feel good because you’re going in the right path and are on your way to reaching that goal some time down the line.  Then you start getting more and more sales.  Before you know it, you’re making an income that replaces your job.  You have built an audience that continues to visit your site and buy your products.  Your site is ranking really well and you’re getting shares from social media.

The first step gets you to the last step.  If you stop moving, how are you ever going to reach your destination?
